Honoring Diane

With great sadness, we share that Diane Mayer, founder and heart of White Feather Farm, has passed from this life.

For many years, Diane poured herself into this land and into the people and animals who found their way here.

White Feather Farm was never simply a place to her. It was a place of relationship — between people and animals, between ourselves and the natural world, and between life, loss, healing and transformation.

Diane believed deeply that animals and nature had something to teach us if we were willing to become quiet enough to listen. Through her work with animals, healing, water, ritual, education, death and grief, she created a place where countless people were invited to slow down, reconnect and see the world — and often themselves — a little differently.

Her presence is woven into this land.

To everyone who walked these woods, sat beside the stream, gathered around a fire, brought an animal here, attended a workshop, volunteered, learned, laughed, cried, celebrated, or simply spent a quiet moment at White Feather: thank you.

You were part of Diane’s life and part of the story of this farm.

All of us at White Feather Farm are enormously grateful for the friendship, kindness, generosity and love that surrounded Diane and this special place over the years, and especially during her final chapter.

Please join us at White Feather Farm to remember Diane, celebrate the winter solstice, share stories, and celebrate the love and beauty she brought into our lives. We’ll gather in a place that meant so much to her, surrounded by nature and the people who carry her memory.

From 3–4:30 p.m., we’ll come together for a flower mandala ceremony in Diane’s honor. If you would like to participate, please bring flowers, petals, or other natural elements to add to our shared creation—an expression of love, remembrance, and connection.

Food will be provided from a food truck beginning at 5 p.m. We’ll have a small selection of beverages available; please bring a favorite drink if there’s something special you’d like to raise in Diane’s honor.

This will be an indoor/outdoor gathering, with a bonfire to gather around as the evening settles in. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

Carpooling is encouraged, as parking will be limited to the street and the neighboring barn across the street.

Come with a story, a smile, a few tears, or simply an open heart. Please feel welcome to join us for all or any part of the afternoon. We would love to have you with us.
